This blog is about the Maine East Varsity baseball team and how they are doing throughout the season. To me, this game has changed the way I perceive life in general. It all started off sophomore year during baseball season. It was about mid-way through the season and our team was doing great.
This was because of the work ethic most of the kids had. We would wake up early in the morning to work out and I hated it, but I did it to make myself better. We would work out until school started, and then after school we would get ready for an intense practice. All that hard work led us to a game against Elmwood Park.
I was the starting pitcher of the game and I was motivated to win. I was very enthusiastic and I tried to spread my energy to all my teammates and I think it really worked.
I started off the game pitching horribly. Elmwood Park was constantly getting hits and scoring runs, but luckily our team was doing the same when we got up to bat.
The score changed every inning. They would go ahead and then we would come back and take the lead. This led to the top of the seventh inning and we were down two runs and we were batting. We went on to score three runs that inning and we took the lead. Unfortunately, they got a chance to bat.
I was still in the game and I had thrown about one hundred and thirty pitches which is a lot for a pitcher. Usually coaches take out their pitchers when they hit the one hundred pitch mark. If I give up one hit, you can take me out of the game. Once I got onto the mound, my body got an adrenaline rush and that mixed with anger.
Fortunately, baseball has changed the way I act and how I play the game. From that game forward, I learned to lead my team on and off the field because I knew they would listen to me. Baseball has changed the way I lead my teammates on and off the field.Essays - largest database of quality sample essays and research papers on Baseball Personal Narratives.
